taxiThe taxi scrip program is for people who are eligible to use Hagi Community Services for Independence - Transit Services, or are registered with another parallel transit service. Taxi scrip offers improved travel opportunities through a city-wide subsidized taxi service. Program users simply purchase Taxi Scrip coupons from the Hagi office, book service directly with participating taxi companies, and pay fares with the Taxi scrip coupons.

How to register:

Taxi scrip users must register with Transit Services using the Transit Application. Your physician must sign the form to indicate you meet eligibility requirements. Taxi scrip users must also make arrangements for photo identification through the Hagi office. There is a $5.00 identification processing fee.

How to use Taxi Scrip:

Coupon books with a face value of fifty dollars ($50.00) are sold for thirty dollars ($35.00) through the Hagi office. These books will only be sold to persons with Taxi Scrip photo identification. Each book contains a selection of $5.00, $2.00 and $1.00 coupons. The coupons are marked for visual impairments. Each registered user is allowed to purchase four (4) coupon books per month.

Contact participating Taxi companies for your ride and advise the company that you are a Taxi Scrip user. When paying for a trip you pay the metered fare with taxi scrip coupons. If a fare is not an even dollar amount, you must make up the difference, as you will receive no change back from coupons. Show the driver your photo I.D. and the taxi drivers will record your I.D. number on the back of the coupon. You must also sign each coupon.

If you have any problems with the Taxi service, contact the Taxi company's manager directly.
