JOB DESCRIPTION - Site Superintendent - looking for a couple (2 people)
Reports to - Resort Manager
The Site Superintendent position is a shared position by a couple who are expected to live on-site during the duration of the contract. The following specifically details the duties and responsibilities for both individuals. Both parties report directly to the Resort Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Joint Resort Responsibilities
1. Live on-site for the duration of the contract, providing security for property.
2. Assist Resort & Conference Centre guests as required.
3. Assist Resort Manager with preparation of Volunteer work parties.
4. Provide own transportation.
5. Ensure that all goods required for Resort are reviewed with Resort Manager prior to any purchasing. Purchase Orders will be used and supplied accordingly.
Maintenance Responsibilities
1. Responsible for stock control and utilization of all maintenance supplies in consultation with Resort Manager.
2. Keep accurate records of preventative maintenance, work orders, cabin maintenance, conference centre maintenance and inspections, inventories as necessary. Completion of weekly reports and findings submitted to the Resort Manager on a regular basis.
3. Maintain a refuse and re-cycle collection system.
4. Monitor all shut off systems, electrical, oil, plumbing, furnaces, emergency systems, waterlines etc. Report any discrepancies and/or findings directly to the Resort Manager.
5. Conduct check in and checkout of resort guests as per procedures. Maintain all areas of each cabin, ensuring that the cabin is in a presentable condition for the next guest.
6. Setup and tear down Conference Centre furnishings as required in conjunction with Resort Manager.
7. Assist as required with groups who reserve the Conference Centre in conjunction with Resort Manager.
8. Provide day to day maintenance as necessary. Report findings and/or discrepancies to Resort Manager weekly or sooner.
9. Provide any other maintenance as directed by the Resort Manager.
10. Maintain all recreational equipment. Advise Resort Manager of deficiencies.
11. Operate the Pontoon Boat as required and collect fees.
12. Oversee casual maintenance staff.
13. Assist with guest services necessary for those with watercraft located at the dock area. Ensure that correct docking and launching are supervised including any other activities with guests in this area.
14. Any other duties as required for the successful operation of the Resort as advised from the Resort Manager.
Housekeeping Responsibilities:
1. Sweeping and washing of all floors in cabins.
2. Detailed cleaning of bathroom, including washing of floors, including disinfecting all bathroom walls/floor
3. Dusting all areas, including; plants, pictures, furniture, lamps etc.
4. Spot washing walls of fingerprints and smudge marks
5. Cleaning of all light fixtures
6. Collecting of all garbage and removing to specified location
7. Cleaning and disinfecting of all garbage receptacles
8. Cleaning of all mirrors
9. Detailed clean of toaster oven, fridge, stove top, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker etc.
10. Washing of all soiled dishes, cookware, and cutlery
11. Washing of all countertops and cupboard surfaces(inside and out, as required)
12. Cleaning of sinks
13. Cleaning of splash backs.
14. Cleaning and polishing of all furniture surfaces including all chair seats and table tops
15. Housekeeping area to be maintained, organized and supplies requisitioned bi-weekly as necessary
16. Laundry to be washed/dried and folded and organized in specified storage area
17. Laundry cart to be replenished and organized each day and job ready
18. Guest Laundry and Games room requires weekly cleaning. Sweeping/mopping of floor and organization of area
19. Dusting of all window coverings and window ledges and baseboards (covered waterlines)
20. Dusting of TV’s and entertainment units including wet wiping TV screen
21. Vacuuming of all chairs, couches, and underneath all furniture
22. Dusting of ceiling fans (if applicable)
23. Cleaning of fire place glass (as needed), fire place surfaces and wood storage
24. Cleaning of outside windows as needed
25. Sweeping and washing of outside deck floor surface (if necessary)
26. Cleaning of deck railings
27. Cleaning of deck furniture
28. Cleaning of barbeque including utensils.
29. Cleaning of outside and inside of front door
30. Wash/dry all linens in housekeeping area
31. Make all beds with fresh linens
32. Change all towelling
33. Dust all surfaces and ledges (polishing where required.)
34. Dusting all window dressings and maintain at specified display levels
35. Sweeping and washing of all floors
36. Spot washing walls
37. Turn mattresses as required
38. Wash inside windows (as needed)
Administrative Responsibilities
1. Collect and submit bi-weekly water samples for analysis to laboratory.
2. Oversee housekeeping for both cabins and conference centre and assisting as necessary. Report daily status to the Resort Manager on concerns or conditions of each cabin and conference centre. Use cabin cleaning reports and summarize details.
3. Prepare and balance all fees collected thru weekly cash, (guest services, pool table, pontoon, wash/dry machines etc). Complete reports for office and submit to Resort Manager with cash/credit card details.
4. Conduct check in and checkout of guests as per procedures.
5. Oversee volunteers, students and housekeeping staff. Advise status of activities to Resort Manager.
6. Assist as required with groups who reserve the Conference Centre in conjunction with Resort Manager.
7. Submit weekly operational reports to Resort Manager.
8. Other duties assigned by the Resort Manager.
